Anchor House Of Artists

Jonathan Stark's line drawing

A page of my scrapbook had this picture by Jonathan Stark, a member of The Anchor House of Artists. I found this print online one day, and later discovered that Jonathan had his own website. He is famous for his “wandering line,” as you can see. A continues line which eventually fills the page as an amorphic or geometric shape.

The Anchor House of Artists is Northampton, MA’s well-known outsider art gallery/studio space. It has gone thru many changes over the past decade but still keeps on kicking. I had an art exhibit 3 years back w/ Ryan McDonnell. Ryan exhibited some abstract pieces combined w/ a multimedia performance the day of the opening. I exhibited my Guilty Pleasures show for the 2nd time, right after having it @ APEarts in Thornes Marketplace. The video below is of the opening exhibit and 2 days later when me and my aunt saw it alone. This was back in the winter of 2007. I had the original Guilty Pleasures show back in the summer of 2006.

Here’s a clip I found of the AHOA on YouTube. The quality isn’t the best but it presents the art gallery from a different perspective. I like the music too.

Here’s a photograph from way back, during the holiday mural painting event of 2007. The painting was later hung in the window of the new APEarts space on Main St. Northampton, MA.
